Savannah! Such a quaint, historic town. Wish we would have had more time to spend here, but we made the most of 2 days of wind, cold temps and intermittent rainfall! We started at Bonaventure Cemetery and we actually got lucky enough to snag a parking spot right outside the entrance gates. I have never seen/visited a cemetery with such beautiful flowering azaleas. It did seem a bit strange to see so many tourists and even a tour bus!

We stayed in a very unique carriage house on West Jones Street in the historic district. It was right next door to the famous “Mrs. Wilke’s” lunch cafe. We found Forsyth Park Square about two blocks from the rental – a very easy walk.

Because of the wind and rain, we weren’t able to photograph as much as we had hoped. The riverfront and cobblestone streets will call us back again soon I’m sure!
On to Pine Mountain to visit Callaway Gardens….The overlook gardens were in full bloom; however, the azalea bowl area were only 20% in bloom. The trails were good for walking and there wasn’t very many people…

Next stop was Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground. Daffodils were still blooming, but on the way out. Tulips were peak.

Final stop: Fred Hamilton Gardens in Hiawassee. We stayed at Lake Chatuge Lodge and had a great room with a balcony view of the lake.
