As we learned more about MS, our daughter went through several uncomfortable medical procedures (MRIs, spinal taps) and started her own journey to fight against this disease. When we had the chance, we took a quick trip to Blowing Rock, NC in June. Even though the rhododendrons were not having a great blooming year, we enjoyed our hikes and the foggy views from the overlooks. We had a very unique cottage rental right in downtown called The Bark Bungalow and could not have had a more perfect location!

We headed into DC around September for an exhibit of white flags to commemorate those who passed from COVID. It was a moving reminder of what this pandemic has done and continues to do.

A return trip to Blowing Rock NC in October was a welcome change in routine. The autumn foliage was vibrant and we hiked up to the balds on Roan Mountain and the trails around Julian Price Lake.
