On August 29, my husband, son and I traveled to Bluemont, Va. where the Great Country Farms was hosting a potato dig. Nothing tastes better than a potato fresh from the ground. We rode the hayride wagon to the field and dug out potatoes! Then we headed to the nectarines that were ripe for picking. A short ride back and a switch to another wagon, we were on our way to pick some honeycrisp apples followed by a pancake breakfast. Entry fee (various age related costs) which included the breakfast; dogs are welcome. We found it to be a great family adventure.
